The Elegant Descent

Description

A juvenile raccoon takes its time descending a tall tree in an Ottawa forest, not very elegantly, mind you. Nonetheless, the little one made it down unscathed thanks to its clumsy precision and patience. The raccoon had a small audience on edge to see if it would make it down without falling, which it didn't seem to mind as its eye was on the prize of making it down in one piece. Raccoon babies, referred to as kits, are born helpless - blind and deaf - and rely completely on their mom. But by the time they reach 8 weeks old, they have a rapid growth spurt and reach about one-third of their adult size. @danidmedia
